VISALYS is a joint initiative of the Research Federations in Life Sciences & Health from Lyon - St Etienne to animate and federate the local research community from Lyon - St Etienne. The VISALYS project is funded by the "Programme Avenir Lyon Saint-Etienne" (PALSE) and is coordinated by Dr. Guy Mouchiroud. See the Visalys website
OBJECTIFS DE LA JOURNÉE
Optimizing management of patients in the future requires a suitable scientific medical research, relevant and reliable including the development of new diagnostic techniques, new treatments and the development of new modalities for patient care and management.
Basic research has long been presented without other purpose than the one to improve knowledge in applied research. On the other hand, medicine and clinical research have been asked to answer specific questions centered on patient care. If it now seems obvious that medical research should be a continuum from laboratory to bedside, via the so-called translational research, often cited but rarely defined, the implementation of the concept of "bench to bedside or B2B" remains poorly organized and seems to depend more on informal networks and geographic proximity than on established and validated structuring models.
Furthermore, the task is now even more difficult given the need to promotetransdisciplinarity at all levels, and to involve in addition to biologists, chemists and doctors, actors from various disciplines, such as mathematics, robotics , engineering, mechanics, or informatic, which offer real opportunities for innovation.
In this context, the Life Sciences and Health Academic College of the Lyon University (in conjunction with other academic colleges) seems to be an appropriate place to begin this discussion and suggest actions that would support initiatives improving the circuitry of B2B. This is what we propose to do on September 27th. We will discuss three discussion points as follows:
Moning plenary lectures
1 - Promoting and developing double education pathways: Lecture from Prof. Jean-Louis Bessereau, PUPH Lyon 1, responsible of the double training Medicine -ENS Lyon
2 - What structures would favor pluridisciplinarity and scientist - clinician collaborations? Lecture from Prof. Olivier Hermine (LabEx GRex, Paris)
3 - Management and exploitation of big data: Lecture from Prof. Pierre-Antoine Gourraud (Nantes)
Afternoon workshops on the same themes
Registration is free but obligatory!
Registration deadline: September 23rd, 2016
